Our Sunday gathering today is the 1st Sunday in Lent 2024. Today’s gathering will include a worship sermon on “The Questions of Jesus: What do you Seek?”, and 12pm bible studies for all ages.

What is Lent?

The word “Lent” comes from the Old English word “lengten,” which simply means “spring” — when the days lengthen and new life springs forth. It is 40 days (Monday-Saturday; Sundays are considered a day of celebration because it is the weekly remembrance of Jesus’ resurrection over death, sin, and Satan) from February 14-March 28. During Lent we anticipate the victory of the light and life of Christ over the darkness of sin and death on Resurrection (Easter) Sunday on March 31st.
